About Tom Query
Tom Query is a psychotherapist practicing in Roswell, Georgia. He has extensive training and experience with individuals, couples, families and teens. He especially likes working with young adults trying to figure out life, their direction, relationships and how to be and individual.
“I am an experienced counselor/ therapist with a firsthand knowledge of a wide variety of issues, problems and situations. I am excellent in communication, warm, relational, non-judgmental and direct. I work to hear the issues you are seeking help with. I do not use "psychobabble." I focus on the "here and now" issues you bring and we will explore what has brought you to this place, what you can do and/or what you can be. When we first meet we will make sure I am the best type of therapist for your concern.
I focus on a person's/couple's strengths, not their weaknesses. I do not hesitate to be direct; however, I am welcoming and sensitive to diversity - particularly in faith and spiritual beliefs; race; sexuality; life history choices and family of origin experiences. I wish to create a safe place for you.
I bring a diverse set of skills and experience. I remember what it was like to first seek a counselor. You have to be very brave. I am very proud to work with the people I do. They are all seeking to be stronger and wiser in their living.” Website
Tom is licensed by the State as a Professional Counselor, and is also certified as a Pastoral Counselor (Fellow) dealing with spiritual questions and directions. His training is in experiential psychotherapy. He has his Master’s (M.Div.) Degree in Counseling from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and achieved his undergraduate degree in Education from Gardner-Webb College in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. . He is also a Licensed Professional Counseling Supervisor for professional counselors seeking Licensure.
His expertise in grief, trauma and loss comes from working on a chemotherapy unit in a hospital, years of sitting with families and their loved ones through the journey of dying, as well as having counseled many people struggling with life loss and transition throughout his career.
In September of 2001, Tom was asked by the Red Cross to come to New York to work with the survivors and families of the victims of the World Trade Center attack. He saw over one thousand people in this grueling placement.
Tom was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"It made emotion well up in my chest and throat and I wasn't able to speak until the very end when I asked a question. "
I've never taken part in a conference that catered so narrowly to my own experience as with the third TCKid Teleconference with Donna Musil. It made emotion well up in my chest and throat and I wasn't able to speak until the very end when I asked a question. Thank you, Donna, Paulette and Brice for another healing experience, once which motivated me to begin organizing a TCK Meet-Up in my area.
